Down Syndrome Kid Scores a Touchdown

A 17 year old high school student named Ike Ditzenberger has down syndrome. He also plays on the varsity football team.

In late September, the Lake Stevens Vikings were crushing the Snohomish Panthers 35-0 with 10 seconds left in the game. That’s when the Panthers ran their top secret play, The Ike Special.

Ike took the hand off from the Panthers quarterback and proceeded to run 51 yards for a touchdown as the clock expired. Vik

Waffles, Beer, and Other Health Food

Last night, after sampling some Jenever (a Dutch alcohol) at a 200-year old bar, walking through the Red Light district, and dodging stoners on bikes, I had a Belgian waffle covered in powdered sugar and warm chocolate. It was decadent, sweet, and delicious. It was not, obviously, “healthy.”

I’ve received a lot of questions on how I’m eating and training while I’m on my month-long Europe trip. My answer: however I want.

I’m not on a diet. In fact, I really despise that word; I find it constricting and too focused on the short term. S

A Story of Breast Cancer Survival…

I am nervous right now as I type this post. I’m going to talk about something personal and it doesn’t have anything to do with getting in shape. Ever since the age of 12, when I lost my mom to breast cancer, I wanted to do something that will would help find a cure. I used to dream of finding a cure myself, so other kids wouldn’t lose their moms to breast cancer. I always planned on doing all the “walks for the cure” and raising money for breast cancer research, etc. Regrettably, close to 30 years have gone by and I haven’t done one single thing that would raise awareness or help in regards to breast cancer.
